Quotes of Joy

I’m going to be away from the computer for a few days, so I thought I would invite all of you to share your favorite quotes about happiness and joy in the comments. I will publish the comments just as soon as I get back on Sunday.

I’ll start with a few of my own favorites.

There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. –Buddha

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. –Psalm 118:24

Oh, be swift to love. Make haste to be kind. –Henri Frederic Amiel

What about you? What are your favorites?

Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. It is your mind that creates this world. Buddha

My all time favorite- I believe I responded to you on one of your blog comments:

''We can smile, breathe, walk, and eat our meals in a way that allows us to be
in touch with the abundance of happiness that is available. We are very good
at preparing to live, but not very good at living. We know how to sacrifice ten years
for a diploma, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car,
a house, and so on. But we have difficulty remembering that we are alive
in the present moment, the only moment there is for us to be alive. Every breath
we take, every step we make, can be filled with peace, joy, and serenity.
We need only to be awake, alive in the present moment. '' Thich Nhat Hanh

  15. Where to start with my favorite quotes, I have so many of them. One of my all time favorites has to be "You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not smashing it" (unknown), a gentle reminder on patience!

Another is "Don't die with your music still in you", this one I heard Earnie Larson say.

And here's one more which I've only heard in song and sung by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: "If you wanna see the rainbow, you've got to stand a little rain."

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you really enjoy time away from cyber space!
