Quotes of Joy

Thanks to all who have shared quotes of inspiration and joy. If you haven't taken a look yet, please click on the comment link to the last post and be amazed! Your comments are great reminders to give ourselves permission to be happy.

Please continue to add to the list! If you have already contributed, don't hesitate to add more. Maybe you have a favorite quote, Bible verse, poem, idea, or thought. Or maybe you might look some up. Or read the tag on your teabag or check out a calendar. If you are more comfortable commenting anonymously, that's fine.

I will be away from my computer for the weekend, so if your comment doesn't appear right away, please don't think you are not appreciated. As soon as I get back, I will get all your comments published.

By the way, on a personal note, I have needed some joy reminders myself lately, so you are helping me out a lot. Thank you.

    1. I love that, everyday is a chance to be Fantastic. My little is going into second grade. We are in the summer time. He was being wild not listening creating a hard time. I said, you are so so good at school. Why are you acting this way??? He said well, at school when I leave, I just like to be on Fantastic. They have a chart. That has been interesting to me. We have moment after moment to improve to grow, to choose. To not waste who we are waiting to suddenly wake up and be this far away dream of a person. I do so love that.

  8. I am sad because it is the end of the month and I haven't done everything that I needed to do to make my heart the joyous open portal to life -- that I wanted to. But next month is coming and I still feel the hope of joy down the road. :)

  9. Anonymous--You said that you haven't done "everything" that you needed to do, which makes me think that you did at least something. Pema Chodron suggests that we make friends with ourselves and start where we are. Every effort, even if it is simply the awareness of missed opportunities, is a step toward joy. I hope you will give yourself some credit and treat yourself to some compassion. I hope that the next month brings more joy. Blessings to you.

  10. How often do we forget that happiness is a choice. I love this paraphrased quote..." are you happy? are your happy? If you are not happy now, when will you be happy?"

May you see the joy in your life always... or at least have good friends to help point them out to you when you are in doubt.

You are in good hands, Galen.

  11. Good stuff! Most people don't realize that being happy takes some work in your mind and heart. Its always easier to believe the bad stuff in our lives. Peace.

  12. The universal truth of Divine Love is a future blog of mine however I offer you this snippet in hope that it brings you great joy

    ...Open your heart to others

Another facet on the brilliant diamond of Divine Love is love we share for others. All our relationships require us to love in the many alluring shades and colours that love comes in. Through opening ones heart each love experience builds on the next. Pure white petals of parental love nourish one from an early age permitting us to enjoy the pale pink buds of tenderness with our first love. As this comes to pass, we are all given the ability to experience deep red love for our sweetheart that nourishes and empowers the heart to come into full bloom. The only way one can enjoy such sensations is by willingly opening their heart to others. Of course this takes immense risk as an open heart is most vulnerable but without great risk one can never truly experience great love! Anyone who sincerely opens their heart to other people will be astonished at how the universe rewards them with much love and joy!
